This is part of the in-universe blog series from Zero Dimensional Space, a hard science fiction novel that reimagines faster-than-light travel in a scientifically grounded and original way. The discovery of Zero Dimensional Space has sparked a covert, brutal space race, where governments deploy espionage, terrorism, and artificial minds to gain control of this unimaginable power.
n Episode 06, Lata responds to Nilima’s heartfelt letter from Munsyari. While Nilima wanders the Himalayas in search of the elusive A1, Lata is deep in her own journey—leading a team solving real-world scientific problems at GAISE, and quietly falling in love. This letter marks a moment of reassurance, connection, and unexpected joy amidst the chaos.

Hi Nilima,
It’s lovely to see your email. Although we receive your weekly updates on the GAISE intranet, it’s great to hear from you.
Firstly, you are not a bad person. People change, things happen. I know in my heart you love Mimi, but the person who is Nilima wants different things from life. And that is fine! Don’t beat yourself up over this. Aryan and Mimi understand this. I know they do. Also, Nilima, how would you have ever known about your love for travel, solo, uninterrupted travel, if you never did it? Go easy on yourself, please. Things could change in the future, and you may want to spend time once again with Mimi and Aryan, or me 😉 Let me tell you the infamous story of the Chinese farmer who says, ‘We’ll see,’ that Rajeev had told us a billion times. I mean, you must give it to the man; the story does have some stock in it. So I say this to you,
We’ll See !!!
The Meditation Core is progressing well now. The team has expanded significantly. We have people from all over the world joining GAISE. I am pleased to say that we have solved the shielding problem, all thanks to our brilliant and ingenious materials scientist, Robert. Robert joined us a few months ago. Not only did he move from the UK, but he also relocated his entire company to India, and, guess what, he also gave up his UK citizenship for an Indian one. With him on our team, we have made several breakthroughs in nanotechnology, composite materials, and alloys. It is a very exciting time at GAISE.
I just remembered again, I miss you so much. Find your elusive Yeti and return to Mumbai soon.
In other news… I’m no longer on those apps. I met someone truly special—someone kind, sweet, and, well, quite charming! It feels like a fairy tale. I can’t wait to share the story with you, but I’d love to tell you in person instead of over email. Come back soon, and I’ll fill you in!
I can tell you his name—it’s Robert Shah! Haha. Yes, you guessed right—our talented materials scientist. We really clicked right away; it was truly love at first sight, Nilima. I won’t say any more! Looking forward to seeing you soon.
Lots of Love!
Lata
