I’ve shared many in-universe voices from the world of Zero Dimensional Space, but today I want to step out of the story and speak to you directly — as the author, the dreamer behind it all.
I started writing Zero Dimensional Space Book 1 and 2 in June last year; that said, I had been ideating far longer than that. You could even say that I have wanted to write ZDS for over twenty years, proverbially, of course.
For those just arriving, Zero Dimensional Space is a literary hard science fiction novel series that begins with the discovery of an amazing new way to conduct Faster Than Light Travel. This is not just a fancy rewrite or mere handwaving of typical tropes, such as wormholes, extra-dimensional travel, or warp drives, but a fundamental rethinking and reimagining of FTL.
The discovery then sets off a space race, but when objectives are not met, subterfuge and espionage are employed. In the fringes of the conflict, Artificial consciousness is being researched furiously, in a bid to win the race. But for every action, there will always be an equal and opposite reaction, as the world tries to reach the stars, by decimating the planet for its resources, a silent force, deeply hurt and scarred by human progress, arises from within as a T-cell of the planet. Its job is simple: eliminate the parasite before it kills the host—our blue marble.
Zero Dimensional Space Saga in book 1 builds an evocative, thought-provoking, and beautifully layered universe for us all to explore, resonate and reflect.
Back in June, all I had with me was the core concept of quantum fluctuation neutralization, which opened a doorway to Zero Dimensional Space —a place where there is no time, no space, no width, no length, just the infinitude of perfect stasis.
The book was a reflection of my experiments with transcendental meditation and my mind falling into deep meditative states. There, I lost all sense of time and space, there was up or down or side, there was no before or after, only now and now and more now. In that nowness, there was no me or you or them or us, just an endless this-ness and a never-ending nowness. When I was in that meditative state, the world spun, the sun shone, the moon rose; people went to work, some died, some were born, some became rich, and some became poor. Some fell into ignorance, while others achieved enlightenment. As for me, I knew nothing of any of that, I remained blissfully dissolved in the this-ness and now-ness, my Zero Dimensional Space.
Gradually, each character took birth in my consciousness. They were not lifeless puppets controlled by an idiotic god—me—but had taken birth and had lived their entire life in my consciousness until the point where they appeared in my story. I watched, and listened to them, observed their thoughts and actions, and wrote it all down. That is how I began writing Zero Dimensional Space. Word by word, the story started to form, protagonists and antagonists fought and loved and cried and died, and I, like a shameless god, observed them, never interfering, and only writing it all down. I never stopped writing, even when I fell sick. Even when I sprained my back and could sit or stand, I could only lie on the bed. I lay on the bed with my knees folded up, my laptop resting on it, and fingers typing and typing and typing the story.
By the time November arrived, I had completed the first draft of both Book 1 and Book 2. Following that, the grueling process of refinement began. I read and re-read, deleted and rewrote, every day for months after that. I must have read ZDS Book 1, from the first page to the last, at least seven times so far. But guess what, what was tiring at first soon became joyful—I loved not just writing but editing too.
And now, in July 2025, the final proofread is nearing completion, and all other necessary elements for the release, including book covers, marketing materials, social media posts, and blogs, are almost complete.
I am targeting the first week of August to release the ebook version on Amazon, finally, and then, ten days later, release the paperback version on the platform.
It has been a fantastic journey so far, and it is only going to get more awesome with every passing day.
In the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing more: deep dives into the science and life of the characters behind ZDS, character blogs, behind-the-scenes design of the Anarva and Type 22 Riyu ships, and even short stories that didn’t make it into the main books but still live inside the universe.
If you’ve been following along, thank you. If this is your first visit to the world of Zero Dimensional Space, welcome. This story has lived inside me for decades, and I’m honored to bring it into the light finally.
