100 days of CHOICEHOOD - Choicehood

100 days of CHOICEHOOD – Day 3 – What do you yearn for?

Desires are from the world.

The blurry whirlpool,

the muddled cesspool.

True yearning is something unfinished,

something untouched.

It only belongs to you,

And only you…

Desires are like sweets in a candy store,

decayed tooth and refined sugar, dopamine and fake high..

Restlessness masquerading as happiness.

True yearning wants to use you up completely,

exhaust you,

extinguish you,

burn you,

test you…

Your potential

Your vigour

Your energy

Your  rigour.

Desires are like bubbles, one pop here, and a blip there.

They are endless.

They are obscure.

They are misleading.

True yearning is the soul screaming,

let me out , for I will die in your cage,

let me out, for I will die with age,

let me out, for I will go mad with rage…

There was a pause. SK opened his eyes, only to be welcomed by a pool of inquisitive eyes staring back.

This is an excerpt from Choicehood, my forthcoming novel.
